What should I bring?
Please bring whatever you would like to eat or drink on the boat. Your captain will have a cooler of ice on board to keep your drinks/food cold. If bringing lunch your captain may appreciate you bringing him a sandwich as well. You should also bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (polarized are best) and camera. An extra layer such as long sleeve shirt or light jacket is recommended in the cooler months.
Do I need to have fishing experience?
No experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome. Our guides can customize your charter to your level experience.
Do I need a fishing license?
You do not need a Florida fishing license when fishing with a captain through Islamorada Guides Club.
Do I need to bring my own fishing equipment?
All fishing tackle, equipment and bait will be provided by your captain.
How do we pay our captain and should we tip?
In order to reserve your trip you will required to pay a 20% deposit on a credit card. After that has been paid, you will pay the balance of your charter fee directly to your guide. When confirming your trip details please be sure to confirm the acceptable forms of payment for your assigned guide. Not all guides accept credit cards. Gratuity is appreciated but not required.
Where do I meet my guide?
When you speak with your guide prior to your trip, please be sure to confirm where you will be meeting as our guides leave from many different locations in the area including marinas, hotels and restaurants.
What if I need to cancel my trip?
